Careers & Certifications

If you are interested in joining our team, we want to hear from you!
We accept applicants of all skill levels, from beginner to professional.

We do not require our makeup artists to have a license in cosmetology or esthetics.
Hair stylists are required to have a license in cosmetology.

Beginner

We request that all beginners start as a Moxxie Assistant. As an Assistant, you’ll develop your skills by observing our professional team and helping them work more efficiently. This is truly the best experience because you’ll get to see how chaotic our jobs can be, and how we remain calm and professional! On the job tasks may include cleaning makeup brushes, prepping hair, holding bobby pins/tools, cleaning, stocking, and organizing the pro’s kit. Really, you could be doing anything! The best Assistant is flexible and eager to learn.

Some people may want to remain an Assistant, but you may also choose to start building your professional kit so you can advance to become a Moxxie Artist or Stylist!

Assistants must attend training, and may be required to provide their own assistant kit once booked for jobs.

The initial training is paid for by the Assistant, then the Assistant is paid for every job worked.

Intermediate

Let’s say you’ve done your sister’s makeup or hair for prom, you’ve been the go-to person for helping your friends go out for the night… but you’ve never done anything “professionally.” You own a ton of makeup and or hair products but most of them are only good for your skin type and hair texture.

-OR- you’ve done a few freelance jobs for friends and family, and you’ve done a few photoshoots. You have a kit but you’re still adding to it as often as you can. Most of your skills are self-taught, but you're ready to elevate your skills.

You may be the perfect candidate for our Moxxie Artist Certification Program!

We will teach you everything we know in the span of a 3-day intensive. We cover skincare, color theory and matching, various eye looks and techniques, false lash application, sanitation, consultations, and business practices. You will also receive extensive training in airbrush makeup, which is required to become a Moxxie Artist.

Please note, the Moxxie Artist Certification Program does not guarantee a spot on our team; and likewise, you are not required to work with us upon completion of the program! We do not have a contract of non-compete, and we want everyone to achieve their own goals. We just want to help you get there!

*If you are interested in becoming a Moxxie Stylist (hair), please still click the above link and let us know! The Stylist Program is a little different but we still follow the same process.
